The UAE has officially confirmed the Eid holiday arrangements for May 2026, bringing extended breaks for both public and private sector employees across the country.
For the public sector, authorities have announced a 5-day official holiday from Monday, May 25, to Friday, May 29, 2026. When combined with the weekends before and after, government employees will benefit from a long 9-day holiday beginning Saturday, May 23, and continuing until Sunday, May 31.
Meanwhile, private sector employees will receive a 4-day paid Eid holiday from Tuesday, May 26, to Friday, May 29. Together with the regular weekend, this creates a 6-day consecutive break lasting from Tuesday, May 26, through Sunday, May 31.
During the Eid holiday period, UAE Immigration and related government offices are expected to remain closed or operate with limited services from May 25 to May 29. Due to this closure, visa processing, status changes, extension approvals, and other immigration-related services may experience delays.
All travelers, sponsors, and companies are strongly advised to submit visa applications, visit visa extensions, change status requests, and related immigration documents before the holiday period begins in order to avoid last-minute issues or processing delays.
As travel demand is expected to increase significantly during the Eid holidays, early planning and advance submissions are highly recommended for a smooth and hassle-free process.
